The current RasterPlus 4 (Macintosh) is a significant upgrade fromHome earlier versions of the program. Please note that the price for the software has also increased significantly to a list price of $995 for the full version and $595 for the upgrade. CTC will market the program for $695 full version, $595 upgrade.

Sequential Queue Technology
RasterPlus Macintosh Edition is the first PostScript Level 3 rip with sequential queue printing. After a queue is completed, RasterPlus automatically checks for more incoming jobs to process, even to a different printer! Also read about: Built-in fonts, supported file formats, and system requirements.
Visual Print workflow
With the 3-step visual print workflow, incoming files are placed in a Hold area where they can be previewed. Once you approve the files, they are sent to the print engine that quickly renders the files to the device resolution. After printing, all files are collected in an Archive for future reference. A quick glance displays the status of every file in the queue.
True Chooser-Level Printing (Networking)
As easy as installing a Laserwriter:

Install RasterPlus on your Macintosh and it becomes a printer server. It can be seen as a Laserwriter from other Macs on the network and remote stations can set their own device options.

Files can be printed from any application on any Mac and they will be processed by RasterPlus.

Programmable Hot Folders (Networking)
With the programmable Hot Folders, you can specify a Hot Folder for each printer queue. RasterPlus will poll the Hot Folders for files at your specified time intervals.

You can set each folder to direct the file to the Hold pane for proofing (previewing) by the host operator, or can sent directly to the Print pane for automatic processing.

You can also set the Archive pane partition size to control system resources, reprinting, monitor usage, and reference. return

Multiple Printer Queues
You can create up to eight separate print queues, each with different properties.

Queues are listed in a pop-up menu (roll your mouse over the image to see) and all queue properties are automatically saved when the queue is deactivated or when RasterPlus is closed. When RasterPlus is re-launched your queues are ready to go!

The queue can be sorted by file name, description, size, date, owner, status, or settings. return

Pixel-by-Pixel Previews
The new high-definition preview replaces View Output for faster, more accurate previewing. You get a pixel-by-pixel preview for true WYSIWYG output. (Roll mouse over image to see example)

You can scale the image from 10% to 200%. This includes previewing your package prints for those who have a Fuji or Sony printer.

Package printing has dozens of standard templates to pick from, the perfect package print is just a click away. You’ll save money, reduce waste and increase production by automatically printing multiple images at the same time. return

Thumbnail Previews with True Rotation
The new thumbnail preview window shows true rotation and allows you to view all incoming files including PostScript, JPEG, and PNG.

You can also preview package prints for the Fuji and Sony printers. return

PostScript Level 3 RIP
With a new world class PostScript 3 print engine, RasterPlus Macintosh Edition sets the standard with rich new graphics capabilities that fulfills the creative expression requirements of imaging professionals.

The PostScript 3 print engine introduces smooth shading technology that renders gradient blends at the resolution of the targeted device to produce superior looking output. Print quality is dramatically improved by reducing banding, a common experience in competitive products.

In addition, complex graphics print faster through the use of advanced imaging algorithms. RasterPlus can take advantage of the highest resolution graphics, since any Macintosh application will view the configured printer as a PostScript 3 device. Now you can use the power of PostScript 3 with the simplicity of File-Print. return

Built-in Fonts:
RasterPlus Macintosh Edition includes 35 popular PostScript compatible fonts and provides a font folder where additional fonts may be added. When File-Printing from any application, RasterPlus automatically embeds all the required fonts in the image file before printing.
Supported File Formats:
PostScript 3, PostScript 2, EPS, TIFF, JPEG, GIF, Mac PICT, Mac Scrapbook, Amiga IFF, Portable Network Graphics, BMP, PCX, Targa, and native Adobe Photoshop PSD.
System Requirements:
OS 8.5 or later. PowerPC class processor. 40 MB RAM Memory. 100MB scratch disk space and 15MB program space.
Optional Utilities:
WinSlide and MacFilm are must have utilities for anyone that processes customer-created files. Customers can now use their own applications to create print-ready files for immediate processing by RasterPlus. All of the required fonts and graphics are automatically included, dramatically reducing the time needed to preflight customer files.

Both WinSlide and MacFilm also feature film recorder friendly page sizes so that your customers can correctly format the document to fit the printed page. WinSlide works with any application under Microsoft Windows 3.xx, Windows 95/98, and Windows NT 3.x/4.0 while MacFilm works on Macintosh OS7.6.1 to OS8.5 or later.
