What Will Microsoft's Next Phone Be?

Another Microsoft smartphone turned out to be an underdog.  Following the destiny of the Zune Phone, Kin pair remained quite an unsuccessful trial.  All that led to believe that Microsoft is good at software but is a complete failure at the smartphone market unable to produce its own device. Its cooperation with Apple when the company provided its browser and search into Apple’s smartphone turned out to be another proof of it. But Microsoft is not ready to admit its losing and is going to fight.

The company’s official announcement stated that it is going to focus on Windows Phone 7 launch, making it their main trump. All the valuable ideas and technologies from Kin development will be included into future Windows Phone releases. The statement is vague and uncertain as all official statements are when the company has nothing particular to promise, is aware of its drawbacks and failures and has to make an impression that nothing bad is going around.

Microsoft really seems to launch its new platform and a new phone. At the moment it is revamping its Market Store turning it into something similar to Apple’s App Store. So, those who already got used to other Microsoft products and want to have a smartphone of the same company have to wait for just a little more. However, it is quite difficult to tell whether the new handset will meet the expectations and the requirements of the crowd. Microsoft is really new at the market and to catch up with iPhone 4, which was released several weeks ago or with some top Android phones will be really hard. To enter the saturated smartphone market now a company needs to offer something extremely innovative that no one yet has or just target the low-end users who want to have a smartphone but are a bit afraid of the prices. The latter initiative seems to be supported by Blackberry which is unfolding its program for low-end smartphone customers. If Microsoft misses the target this time, the company will lose its chances to become a more or less significant player at the smartphone market at all.
